INDIANAPOLIS, December 20 – The American Association of Orthopaedic Executives (AAOE) has been approved by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to participate in the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) for 2020 as a Qualified Registry (QR).
Why does this matter? Orthopedic practices can use the AAOE Empower Registry to complete all of their MIPS reporting, including the quality, promoting interoperability, and improvement activity categories, at our affordable rate of $300 per provider. This will be AAOE’s third year as a third-party intermediary for the MIPS program.
The AAOE Empower Registry is just one component of AAOE Empower that also provides the ability to collect patient satisfaction and patient reported outcomes data. “AAOE is proud to be a Qualified Registry for the 2020 MIPS performance year. We are pleased to continue contributing to the musculoskeletal community with our registry growth and member participation. Approval by CMS allows us to continue this growth,” says 2019-2020 AAOE President Kitchi Joyce, IntraHealth Group/OrthoAtlanta.
This is an important initiative of AAOE to give back to the orthopedic community by providing all orthopedic practices, no matter their practice size, setting, or structure, with a single location for their data collection, benchmarking, and reporting needs at an affordable rate. The inclusive rate includes all components of AAOE Empower and access to MIPS reporting assistance and guidance from AAOE.
